CTET September 2026, Apply Online ctet.nic.in

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test September 2026 and is inviting online applications from eligible candidates. The 22nd edition of the CTET examination is scheduled to be conducted on 06 September 2026 (Sunday) across 132 cities throughout India.

Candidates who wish to appear for the examination can submit their applications through the official CTET portal, ctet.nic.in, from 11 May 2026 to 10 June 2026.

Applicants are advised to carefully read the official notification, eligibility criteria, examination details, and instructions before completing the online application process.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Classes I to V
Qualification IdEducation Qualification
1.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
2.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
3.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
5.“Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” “(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.
6.Post-Graduation with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and passed or appearing in final year of three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

1.Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
2.At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in PostGraduation and passed or appearing in final year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
3.Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
4.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
5.Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
6.Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year B.Ed. (Special Education)
7.Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/ CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/ CTET.
8.Post-Graduation with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and passed or appearing in final year of three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
